Introduction:

This competence based certified EMS lead auditor program offers a completely new approach to environmental management systems lead auditor training. The training is focused on attendee achievement of three sets of defined competencies: auditing skills, environmental management systems, and team leader skills.

The course is designed to follow the basic steps of an EMS audit, from Preparation and Evaluation, to Reporting and Corrective Action.   It also includes Audit Management.  Attendees learn auditing processes and procedures using the Guidelines for Quality and/or Environmental Management Systems Auditing (ISO 19011:2002) standard, as well as the ISO 14001 standard.

Practical workshops, case studies, and simulated audits are used to practice new skills and techniques. Whenever possible, a live audit in a local EMS registered company will be included.

Competency-based exercises are conducted throughout the course.  Satisfactory completion of these exercises will result in successful completion of the course and a certificate that will allow you to apply directly to RABQSA for provisional auditor status.

• It is a progressive assessment system. You are assessed as each task is completed.   

• The training allows you to learn at your own pace.  There is no end of stressful, two hour end of class exam.  If you fail the assessment on one task, you simply review it with the instructor and re-do that one assessment at your own pace.

• The class is completed in 4 days; only 4 days out of the office, away from home
